Jimmy Charles Biography

Jimmy Charles is a soulful, genuine and passion-filled Country Singer and Songwriter that brings unparalleled energy to all his performances.
Jimmy grew up on the eastern shore of Maryland where sports, fishing, crabbing, hunting, sailing, the beach…and of course writing and playing music were his favorite activities. Jimmy graduated from Towson University where he played linebacker for the Tigers (being nicknamed "The Crash" for his hard hitting style) and received a Mass Communications Degree.

Jimmy has had an impressive beginning to his professional career as a Season 9 contestant on "AMERICAN IDOL" gaining high praise from judge 'Simon Cowell. "I think you have a Great Voice and I admire your dedication in moving to Nashville. You are one of my favorites in this competition" Simon Cowell
Jimmy also was named in the Top 50 on the show "Nashville Star"
Jimmy is doing extensive charity work for several Cancer non-Profits. He has performed and supported many benefits and charity events naming Cancer and children as two of his top priorities. Jimmy also sings and gives motivational speeches to children at Elementary schools, encouraging them to chase their dreams, listen to their parents and teachers and never give up even when the going gets tough.

This year Jimmy was named an Official Spokesperson for Zero Cancer where he has and will be flying out to major cities across the country speaking and performing at their benefit races in front of thousands of survivors, their families and those battling. They have adopted his new song "Superman" that he wrote specifically for them as their "Anthem". The song brings awareness to the battle of cancer so many face and for men to get checked for Prostate Cancer and never suffer alone. His father passed away while he was singing this song in the studio. Full music video for the song is under construction. The last race he performed and help promote raised $450,000 for Prostate cancer research, treatment and screenings. This title and the efforts here with the song give his music and artistry purpose and meaning to do great things and hopefully be remembered. www.zerocancer.org
