Sat Oct 26 - Time for our annual spooked out, funked up and scarylicious South London Soul Train Halloween Special - A multilevel trip of Epic Proportions at The CLF Art Cafe. Strictly good time, dancefloor nuking SLST Host with the absolute most DJ Jazzheadchronic plus super cool HBO US DJ of choice - Qool DJ Marv joined by absolutely legendary US guests The Brooklyn Funk Essentials (Live) - featuring the equally legendary 90's "Where Love Lives (Come On In)" singer Alison Limerick. Plus we got so much more across 3/4 floors. Each Floor dedicated to making your soul screeeeeeeeam and yoh feet bleed as you get down to some blood curdling audio and righteous groove. And as it's Halloween come dressed to impress and scare the funk out ah us! Scarily good times ahead y'all! Level 1 - The Brooklyn Funk Essentials Feat Alison Limerick (Live) band on stage around midnight Since 1993, Brooklyn Funk Essentials have been presenting their unique brand of eclectic funk to ecstatic audiences around the world. Made up of musicians, singers and poets from around the globe, the group is an all-star-team famously mixing styles like soul, jazz, latin and house - all rolled into one ferocious funk fest. If it grooves, they will funk it! BFE have released five studio albums, that along with massive critical praise, have earned them Grammy nominations and ‘Album Of The Year’ acclaim. Their songs have also been used in several films and TV-shows, such as ‘Starsky & Hutch’, ‘The Sopranos’, ‘The Blacklist’ and ‘The Basketball Diaries’. But perhaps most notably, their amazing live shows have given them a worldwide loyal fan-base. M+M joining forces with Brooklyn Funk Essentials DJ Lati K for the official launch of two new killah releases. The first a righteous new Mochi Men release on their Discodelic Parisien label, with Lati-K serving up fresh joints from the other, new Brooklyn Funk Essentials album, which drops this weekend. Expect maximum highs and pounding sub lows as the trio of soulful house, disco and funk heads stand up and truly deliver. You will get down! Lest we forget Room 3 - A Disco Freaks hard to the floor Classic Disco stomp off. Anthems to classics to rarities in Disco, Disco and more Disco. An epic 45 and 12 inch strictly vinyl session served up on a beefy rig to spin that Halloween wig and make you get down on it all night long. Expect plenty of Earth Wind & Fire, Chic, Patrice Rushen, Barry White, Cheryl Lynn, Cerrone and beyond, dropped like an audio bong (see what we did there) for max dancefloor satisfaction. The South London Soul Train Multi-level Halloween Special line up completed in The Rye Wax / Basement by THE RYE WAX DISCOMITES. Rye Wax residents exploring the deeper side of Disco. Rare Cuts to Classics, Jump Up to Get Down. Expect pure fire in the basement, as Rye Wax DJs ignite a powder keg of good time sounds and invite you to dance harder y'all. Time to positively tear the roof off the sucka. You know they got soul! The South London Soul Train (as always) All floors, will be taking, all passengers on a Non-Stop Magical Mystery Tour through all things Too Damn Funky. Alison Limerick Biography

Alison Limerick (born c. 1959 in London, England) is an English singer.
She began her music career as a backing vocalist in the mid-80s after attending the London Contemporary School of Dance. In 1989 made a brief appearance as an African sorceress in Bob Rafelson's film Mountains of the Moon. She is best known for her 90s club anthems, her most successful and best known track being "Where Love Lives", which was originally a massive club success in 1991 and top ten smash when remixed in 1996.
She has also contributed to musical project This Mortal Coil, singing on two of their albums; Filigree & Shadow (1986) and Blood (1991).
