Indigo Monet Biography

Indigo Monet is a Neo-Spiritual/Indie Hip Hop artist, songwriter, model, dancer, and entrepreneur from Long Island, NY, now based in Los Angeles, CA, who isn't afraid to break all the boundaries and take risks. She's a kindred spirit with messages of love, positivity, and triumph. She was born in Long Island, NY and was raised between Long Island, Brooklyn, and Queens for her childhood, teenage, and early adult years.

At the age of 9 years old, she began training in the areas of Ballet, Jazz, Pointe, African, Modern, Hip-Hop, and Tap dance disciplines at The Gloria Performing Arts Foundation Inc., later renamed The Gloria Eve School of the Dance and Music, located in Hempstead, NY. Gloria Eve helped push Indigo to work hard and continue to be great in her craft, as she was selected through an intense audition process to join the dance theater company, which gave her the opportunity to dance in front of international recording artist, Alicia Keys and for celebrity hairstylist Terrence Davidson. Her success at Gloria Eve lead her to be not only a great dancer, but an amazing choreographer as well. She began choreographing and dancing for upcoming coming artists, opening up for big names like, Soleil Laurent, Mario, Chrisette Michele, Juelz Santana, Monica, XSO, Christopher Williams and more.

After background dancing & choreographing for 4 years, Indigo decided that playing the background wasn’t good enough, and so, she began her music career back in 2012, and after performing in Afropunk's Battle of the Bands in 2014, Indigo Monet began to make a name for herself in the gritty underground New York City scene.

Her musical talents led her to open up for world class acts such as The legendary SugarHill Gang, the Force MD's, Serani, Ryan Leslie, the legendary female singing group En Vogue, and Stalley of Maybach Music Group, to name a few.

Indigo is also a talented published model, with her first publication being on an international platform in the London magazine, Jocks&Nerds Magazine. She’s also modeled for urban street vendors, such as Toksick mag, Rudeboy Magazine, Namaslay Collective, and the Elephant Tribe to name a few. After taking a hiatus from music for over a year to focus on dancing, and coming fresh off of Monica's 22-city Code Red Experience tour, and landing a cover story & 10 page spread in Hansum Magazine, Indigo finally released some new sounds in the form of her third EP titled "BleuDreamZ," which dropped January 1st of 2017 on Soundcloud (re-released on October 10th, 2023).
After getting well received reviews from the likes of ThisIs50.com, Artsy Magazine, and Skilly Magazine to name a few, Indigo solidified herself as a strong powerhouse in the underground artistic scene.

Since then, Indigo continues to work hard, and strives to be the best in all her crafts - constantly remolding herself, her image, and her sound, all while staying authentic to her innate frequency and fan base. Monet has also expanded her brand's reach through her many business ventures & affiliations. She's now the CEO of over 5 budding companies, all rooted in community activism and spiritual elevation of the entire planet, and a partner for many Los Angeles based organizations that are using music & art as a platform for activism. She's even started her own radio FM platform "444.9 INDY.FM RADIO," to give arists like her, who have put in the work, done the time, and deserve the recognition, a platform to shine fully and connect deeper with their audience, while also expanding that audience and continuously #UPLIFTINGTHEUNDERGROUND.

Indigo Monet (or Ms. Kiva Cash if ya' nasty) is currently re-releasing all of her old projects, while simultaneously giving us a slew of new sonic frequencies to heal and feel to all 2023/24.
Monet is also, after 10 years of artistry, finally working on her FIRST FULL LENGTH ALBUM, titled "XXX," projected to be released on NOVEMBER 11th, 2024. Prior to this, she will be releasing her highly anticipated "MONEY MANTRA$ - A Kiva Cash Tale" LP on August 25th, 2004, which features production from Pakk Music's Python P, as well as Yun Nostra, Vonbewylin, + more!

INDY strives to be a perfect example of how hard work, and dedication, as well as going against the grain, choosing your own path, and trusting your divinity & higher self not only leads you to genuine personal happiness, but also real, tangible success and longevity.
