Something else will need them for the growing.” Taking what's left and putting it through fusion and rhythm changes makes up the lump of mountain folk as a genre – the Mountain Folk then expand and deepen the sound, helping it evolve and grow by locking in the fusion on the low end and filling in the melodic leads and vocal harmonies in between the hard breaks. Wes Urbaniak and the Mountain Folk have been touring the nation like mad, having played over 60 shows this year alone and getting to play many of those shows with some of the best musicians out there touring right now. The music they've been playing is thoughtful and conscious - all mountain folk - and is everything Montana. Urbaniak is a singing, beatboxing stomper, with some mean guitar skills who is backed up by the harmonies of Mat Regele (upright bass), and A.J. Sheble (4- and 8-string ukulele). These guys make it do what it do on the strings, plus, they've been playing all this music on custom Montana-made instruments from Urbaniak's shop. Nothing quite like it anywhere, and no better place for it to have come from.
