Natasha Agrama Biography

Natasha Agrama is a leading voice in the new wave of talented young musicians forging the Los Angeles jazz renaissance. A powerfully charismatic live performer, she’s imbued with an innate ability to interpret complicated melodies with impeccable timing and flawless phrasing.

Natasha, born and raised in Hollywood,CA, comes from a deep musical heritage. Her grandfather was Antonio Prieto, one of the most renowned and popular singers of his generation in Chile, Argentina and Latin America overall, having recorded over 1000 songs during his 50-year career. Her stepfather is the legendary four-time Grammy award winning jazz bassist and composer, Stanley Clarke.

Growing up with such powerful musical lineage exposed Natasha not only to her family’s influences but also to a plethora of musicians and singers of all genres and styles. She thrived in this environment and this early, immersive musical education is evident in the versatility and dynamism of her art expressed through the vehicle of her lustrous, satiny voice. She went on to study visual art in the Bay area, and has developed a deeply immersive practice as a video artist as well as in drawing, painting, installation, and fashion. During all this, her passion for creating and sharing health led her into the food industry where she has been working for the better part of a decade to help people understand more about health, which she accomplishes through her work with a Hollywood vegan cafe, as well as through private catering, and also by publishing health and recipe zines.

Natasha has performed in the most legendary jazz clubs and festivals around the world including The Blue Note NYC, Blue Note Tokyo, The Blue Whale, Catalina's, Yoshi's Oakland, Jazz in Marciac, Marseille Jazz Festival, New Morning Jazz Club Paris, and almost countless others through Europe and South America. She resides in Los Angeles and continues to forge forward with her artistry, having garnered a huge fan base that enthusiastically attends her shows. True to form, as a daughter of fusion, she melds genres within her own jazz-centric idiom; from straight ahead to hip hop, soul, funk, and rock, her approach ranges from a clear homage to the history that's begotten her, to a wailing torch bearing futuristic story teller, bending styles to suit the message. Emotion rides up front whenever Natasha is on the mic, and it seems to mesmerize audiences, bringing them catharsis and honesty to bring into their everyday lives as a tool for their own self expression.

She is bringing about a new line of clothing to share with the public, all handmade and hand painted, as well as the first official collection of her work in health, published in soft cover format, called, "Yo! This Book is Healthy!" She teaches a vocal healing workshop in Hollywood currently, where she combines the mindset of yoga with her vocal coaching technique and experience.

Natasha's plans are to bring joy and healing to the world through her music, promoting creativity and imagination through her art, as well as healthy living styles through her work in nutrition and culinary healing arts. Her mission is to bring healing, acceptance, and celebration of natural goodness to the world at large as well as herself.
