Internationally performing father and son duo from New Zealand.The music of Monk Party is a captivating soulful experience, peacefully uplifting the listener with the rich mantra’s of spiritual teacher Sri Chinmoy. Using instruments from around the globe you will hear influences from Turkish, Middle Eastern, Indian and Jazz.
Alap & Lukas
Alap means "The source of music." Alap was another innovative performer, specialised in self-produced recording with a multitude of layers, usually involving percussion and World influences.He is from Switzerland and has played for over 30 years. Several times he has been featured in New Age charts. Many of his flutes Alap himself developed to achieve very specific timbres and characteristics, which are particularly suitable for his trance generating rhythmic and meditative sounds. Adarsha Kelly.
Adarsha comes from Glasgow Scotland. Adarsha has performed at concerts around the world – featuring in many international “Songs of the Soul” concerts. His Haunting soulful voice has been heard solo and part of world music orchestra's.
Vapushtara Jongepier is a superb Jazz/Classical Pianist and also meditation student of Sri Chinmoy since 1994. In daily life he is a piano tuner and technician in Amsterdam. He is also the arranger and directer of the Gandharva Loka Orchestra, an international choir and orchestra that performs Sri Chinmoy’s music worldwide

The music of Monk Party is a captivating soulful experience, peacefully uplifting the listener with the rich music and mantra’s of spiritual teacher Sri Chinmoy. Using instruments from around the globe including northern African and Arabic drums, flute, harmonium, oud, darbuka, riq, frame drums, badhran, cajón, guitar, gongs and bansuri flute you will hear influences from Turkish, Middle Eastern, Indian and Jazz.
When they play, they both consciously try to offer their hearts of love and oneness to each individual through their path of music and love for humanity. This music takes us away from the restless mind, awakens inner aspiration, and inundates us with a heightened sense of inner tranquility and well-being.
Sri Chinmoy once said “Music will play a most important role in bringing about world oneness, for music embodies the Universal Heart, the Oneness-Heart. Music transcends the barriers of nations, nationalities and religions. Music embodies universal Light and universal Truth, and music also embodies the oneness-reality which we see in universal Love, universal Light, universal Awareness and universal Wakefulness. Universal Wakefulness we see inside all music. Music has to play a most important role in bringing about world oneness, for music is the connecting link between the One and the many and between the many and the One.”
