Josh Mallett, professionally known as Rip, started his independent Record label, Rip Records, in 2000 while still in high school. Allured by the world, he set out to pursue a career in MUSIC seeking out money, fame, women, power, and accolades to fulfill the empty void his broken childhood had left him feeling. driven by pain & determination he learned how to fully produce & record all his own recordings in his 8x8’ bedroom during a time when home studios and digital online marketing had yet to catch on.

Shortly after launching his record label, his savvy technological instincts landed him a partnership with Atlantic Records promoting online some of the biggest names in his hometown Chicagoland market. Some of these artists would go on to go platinum and hit billboard charts for the first time ever in their career, making their names known worldwide: Twista & Kanye West. in 2004, Josh “rip” Mallett was awarded a certified platinum plaque from the RIAA for his efforts. Using his knowledge and expertise, he continued to pursue his own music career performing throughout the Midwest with some of the biggest names in mainstream hip-hop.

After over a decade and a half of releasing secular mixtapes, albums, and performing shows with well-known artists, his lust for the world and women had caught up with him. years of compounded sin weighed him down and he found himself on his knees in his room calling out to Jesus: “I can’t do this anymore!” addicted to sex, porn, power, money, and fame, rip finally came to the end of himself in 2015. At that moment He vowed to give everything he has ever learned in the music industry and use these God-given talents and gifts only to glorify The Lord in all that he does from that day forward.

In 2017, Rip released his first-ever Faith-based album, “Trinity”, which has been his most successful album to date with titles being placed on the ballot & considered for GRAMMY Awards. His follow-up album, “Delivered”, is currently underway.
In late 2020, Rip came across Nicky Gracious online and signed him to his imprint, RiP records. In that short amount of time God has made it clear that He has an immense anointing and calling on these two Men. To God be the Glory...
