Skyler Day Biography
Skyler Day is a singer/songwriter/producer whose confessional approach to music has the uncanny ability to warm your heart and go for the jugular at the same time. Case in point, her song “The Best Worst Thing”, which opens with the line “I hate that you’ve seen me naked”, is a firestorm of confessions that you would more likely find in a diary; for example, “I hate that I didn’t just punch you that time on our date you were rude to the waitress”. American Songwriter has praised Day for her “candid lyricism” which recently garnered her a 2nd place win in the International Songwriting Competition (folk/singer-songwriter category).
The Georgia-native has been amassing a devoted fan base, selling out venues like the Troubadour and even catching the attention of GRAMMY-winning artist Kacey Musgraves who handpicked her for a mentorship that led to Day’s festival debut at ACL Fest. On top of that, Day has also been growing her following by performing for fans waiting outside of sold-out venues around Los Angeles. She spends hours moving down the line, guitar in hand, serenading a few concert-goers at a time. Her "Line Shows", as she has dubbed them, started as a dare to herself and are now consistently turning complete strangers into friends and supporters who attend her concerts and sing along to her songs.
In addition to her music career, Day is a well-established actress recurring on shows such as NBC’s Parenthood, Law & Order: SVU, Pretty Little Liars and FOX’s The Resident.
