About this concert
Band together with musical greats at a live benefit concert aiding Beverly 'Guitar' Watkins. A Legend of Blues music, R&B and Rock, Miss Watkins needs your help. The blues & live music community unites in song for a performance to remember. Local giants and musicians who have toured the world across decades will pour out their hearts for one of their own. A powerful guitarist, she was covered BY The Beatles in 1964 and still played guitar behind her head at 80. But now, Beverly is recovering from a stroke. Her benefits are reaching an end just as she needs them most. Help raise $ to pay for her therapy and keep her apartment! Donations will be accepted at the door & throughout the benefit. Note: Piano Red is on the Bands in Town lineup because many of his band members will be performing at Beverly's Benefit Concert. Beverly is also on the Bands in Town lineup so that her fans will know about the Benefit, but Beverly will not be performing. Spread the word and bring a friend.

Sandra Hall Biography

Where does one start when trying to accurately describe the God given talent and natural ability of a truly great artist? Do you start by quoting the many accolades bestowed upon them by journalists, critics, and their peers, or try to compare them to other artists who are better known? I think I would rather quote the great master himself, B.B. King, when he sang "It's hard to describe her, so I’d better not start, I better stop now because I have a very weak heart, You upset me baby, like being hit by a falling tree, woman that's what you do to me" and that is the only way to describe Sandra Hall. "The Empress Of The Blues," Sandra Hall, has been preaching, teaching and vociferating the blues from a city that has played host to both gospel and blues music for the past ten decades, I'm talking about Atlanta, Georgia. She got her start at the age of four in a little town just outside of Atlanta called Oakland City singing gospel music at Whitesville Baptist Church alongside her mother and grandmother. At the age of 12 Sandra and her sister formed a group called The Soul Sisters and began singing in clubs. Then in the 1960’s Sandra took on a career as a dancer and formed an all girls group called The Exotics. That’s when she began to open shows at the world famous Royal Peacock club. Since that time, Sandra’s musical career has soared to many heights including songwriting sessions, tours, and a number of albums released worldwide. She has been near and far writing and singing the blues for audiences around the world. Throughout her journey she has shared the stage with such artists as James Brown, BB King, Johnny Taylor, Otis Redding, Bo Diddley, The Temptations, The O’Jays, and Etta James just to name a few. Her sonorous vocals, inspirational stage presence, professionalism, determination, and strong constitution is how she procured the title "The Empress of the Blues" and has led her to the hottest blues clubs and venues in the United States and Europe for over 35 years. Sandra Hall’s live shows are full of high energy, audience participation, smiles, and backed by some of the best bands of our times. You can usually catch her touring throughout the United States, Switzerland, Italy, France, Germany, Spain, Sweden and the Netherlands playing festivals and clubs, so be sure to keep a look out for a show coming near you!
