Lead by vocalist Kathy Patino, Girl K began as a solo project in early 2017. Her debut album, Sunflower Court, was released that summer and served as her introduction to the Chicago music scene. Joined by Ajay Raghuraman, Alex Pieczynski, and Kevin Sheppard, Girl K released multiple singles throughout 2018, earning a spot in Paste Magazine’s list of 15 Chicago bands you "Need to Know."
