About this concert
In partnership with Rebuild Foundation, Chicago Dancemakers Forum presents the work of two recipients of its 2019 Greenhouse Awards: Keyierra Collins (in collaboration with Jovan Landry) and Reginald Cosper, Jr. aka Sirr Tmo. The Greenhouse program stimulates artistic growth and relationship-building for emerging dancemakers by providing $4,000 cash grants along with paid mentorship, rehearsal space, marketing, and group dialogue—to support their creative process as they develop new work over the course of three months. Keyierra and SirrTmo will each present an excerpt of their Greenhouse project, followed by a discussion with the audience.

Jovan Landry Biography

Jovan Landry is a Chicago-based multidisciplinary artist known for her articulate lyrics focused on self-empowerment and overcoming obstacles. She is a filmmaker, photographer, and emcee, captivating audiences with her magnetic stage presence. In 2017, Jovan received the WeWork Creator Awards grant to create the groundbreaking hip-hop album, Synergy, produced, performed, and engineered exclusively by women and femmes. The album is archived at the Universal Hip-Hop Museum, and Jovan has been invited to perform and speak at prestigious events such as ABC-7's Windy City Live and the Women in Hip-Hop Conference. She continues contributing her vocals for collaborations, performing live, and producing music for recording and dance artists. Jovan Landry is an influential force in the music industry, inspiring audiences worldwide.

“Landry dominates the entirety of the stage, taking charge from song to song, playing off the building energy of her audience. Creating a performance that takes root in one’s mind for days later.” -Britt Julious, Chicago Tribune

“On the mic, she’s able to rock the crowd, & she can deliver some hard, urgent rhymes, but she can also switch it up and deliver on some quiet, intimate moments as well, and transition with ease into a more vulnerable delivery to match the lyrics.” - Chi Chi, Scratched Vinyl
