About this concert
In the 5 years since she came to London from her home town of Sheffield Kat Eaton has established herself as a singer and songwriter of talent, breadth and genuine creativity. In a scene which is not short of accomplished female singer songwriters Kat’s unique voice stands out, with its low soulful register and impressive power and focus. Originally discovered through BBC Introducing, Kat's singles ‘Giving It Up’ and ‘The Joker’ earned her strong support from the late Terry Wogan & Vanessa Feltz on BBC Radio 2, Robert Elms and Gaby Roslin on BBC Radio London and Mark Forrest on BBC Introducing. 'The Joker' was also play-listed at BBC Radio London and two more singles from her "When You’re Not Around" EP made it to the playlist of the national radio station in Holland, NPO Radio 5. Kat’s latest single "Where Were We" (released in May ’19) is currently on the BBC Radio London and NPO Radio 5 playlists. She lists her influences as, amongst many others, Janis Joplin, Joe Cocker, Tom Waits and Bonnie Raitt and describes her music as "..having its roots in blues, soul and country. If you like Amy Winehouse, John Mayer or Little Feat you should dig my kind of music too". Highly experienced she has performed in Holland, Czech Republic, France and Ireland as well as touring the UK supporting various artists, selling out multiple headline shows in London and co-writing with the likes of Ruby Turner. Kat is now heading back into the studio to record her debut album, due to be released in early 2020 and in the meantime will be on tour, supporting The Teskey Brothers and Jools Holland in the Autumn. Performing a mix of songs from her previous releases as well as songs to be heard on her upcoming CD, Kat this evening will be accompanied by an A list band of Sam Grimley-piano, Nick Atkinson-guitar, Jon Cox-bass and Sebastian Hankins-drums. A genuine talent worth catching at the Club while you still can!
