Liz Menezes

Liz Menezes is a singer songwriter that began her musical career at the age of ten by getting involved in her church as part of the choir ensemble, while she was learning how to play classical piano.   Her training as a writer began at an early age, when she began writing poetry which later would take life with melodies eventually becoming songs.   Her passion for the arts led her to audition for commercials, acting, female groups and as background vocalist/songwriter for different a artist.   Liz has been greatly influenced by the Brazilian culture.  During her two year stay in Rio de Janeiro,she had the opportunity to record American standard songs in Bossa Nova.  She worked with record label Albatroz Music as an independent artist.  Included in these projects, which were released in Europe and Japan are such names as Bossa Nova great Roberto Menescal, and partner of Albatroz Music, Raymundo Bittencourt.    In 2007 two of her renditions of such Beatles classics,“For No One” and “Nowhere Man” included in the compilation BEATLES IN BOSSA where #1 in I-tunes Japan. In 2008 Liz was voted into first place by her fans in the Latin category for the online competition FAMECAST with her song "Medidas".    In 2009, Liz was acknowledged by the press appearing in People Espanol, Boom Magazine, Pies Derecho, New York Al Dia and Juniors' Cave Online Magazine to name a few.  Later that year she performed at the world known BB Kings in NYC.  2010 brought Liz more attention, she was awarded honorable mention by Billboard as a lyricist and interpreter for her song "Tengo" in the Latin category.   Her fan base continued to grow in Argentina, Peru, Spain and many more.   This same year brought the launch of her official website (www.lizmenezes.com) which was made possible with her collaboration with Monkey Pig (www.monkeypig.com).    2011 Liz first solo debut cd “YO” was released on all digital downloads.  The cd became a complete success. Her music was heard on some of the following online radio stations www.radiosanz.com , www.radiovipze.com , www.895radiodelpueblo.com.ar/  , http://www.batanga.com/es/cds/liz-menezes-yo  and many more.    2012 Liz Menezes premiered her music video VENENO  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ENuNw7NbxWM     She appeared on the cover of El Barrio Latino Magazine and had a featured interview in the Dominican magazine Oh!   TV came knocking on her door when producers of the show EAST LOS HIGH  featured music from her debut cd YO on the most impactful episodes of their first season!   Brasil once again came knocking on her door; Raymundo Bittencourt of Albatroz Music asked her to record three more America Standards for the label which were released later that year.    2014 started off with a bang, Liz found herself in her second home the music studio where she started writing what would soon become her long awaited second ep in Spanish and English.  The ep released in 2015    Always thinking of her fans, she decided to release the single titled DEJAME which     was on promotion and rotation in the following radio stations RAN STERO, Radio Internacional, Radio Esencia, Se Vale Todo (CNQ Radio), Codigo Radio y Top Europa. This ballad placed #44 position in downloads on Itunes in less than a month!   Liz once again was called by Albatroz Music in Brasil this time asking her to record a full length cd in Bossa Nova which was released internationally.  https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/relaxing-bossa/id924638222       2014-2016 Liz was performing around New York, PA and CT.  2016-2018 Liz took a hiatus  2019 – Liz is rebranding her artistry and headed back to the studio to release new music soon.
