About this concert
It’s been 10 years since their last album and they’re back from outer-space: tougher, wilder and sharper than ever. Snake sees ROCKET SCIENCE at the height of their powers, charged with a cosmic energy born of a unique alignment between four exceptional musicians. A truly collaborative work, recorded by the band’s guitarist Paul Maybury. Mixing improvised moments with post-punk, garage, space rock and dark imagery. The songs reflect a decaying post-postmodern world, that is both self-destructive and in denial.Rocket Science celebrate the release of Snake with a run of east coast shows. Pushing the new material further out with their billowing live sound, evergreen energy and a deep commitment to existing in the present.Special guests tbaSnake will be released on LP, CD and digital through Melbourne label IT Records on August 16https://itrecordsmelb.bandcamp.com/album/snake

Rocket Science Biography
1) Rocket Science was an emo/indie band, active in the mid 1990's. They released two 7"s, both in 1996. Fans of Christie Front Drive will like this.
2) Rocket Science emerged from Melbourne in mid-1998. The indie rock four-piece, which consists of Roman Tucker (vocals), Kit Warhurst (drums), Dave Gray (bass), and Paul Maybury (guitar), had dreams of making it big in music since childhood. They compose a gritty, glam rock sound that's a little more edgy than the Vines' candied punk. Their first song, "Welcome Aboard," was written on the same day Rocket Science came together. From there, they built an Australian following, which later collected U.K. fans. Opening dates with Mudhoney and the Supersuckers following into 2000 and their debut full-length, Welcome Aboard the 3C10, appeared the next year. Rocket Science's sleazy, arrogant style was a buzz well into 2002 when they recorded the sophomore effort, Contact High. It wouldn't see a release date in Europe until mid-2003; however, fans tied themselves over with the electric Run Like a Gun EP which appeared earlier that spring.
