One Ton Country Biography
One Ton Country was born from “Grillin' and Guitar” nights at a friend’s home in late 2013. Friends and family would get together, grill, laugh, eat and then pull out their guitars and play and sing until all hours of the morning.
What began as an acoustic trio in 2014 with their first show being at a local bar in Pflugerville, TX grew into a full five-piece band in late 2015. They now perform all over central Texas…keeping the dance floors packed! They have performed at Coupland Dancehall, Leander Old Towne Street Festival, Hutto Old Tyme Days, Buck’s Backyard, Buda TX, and the Rodeo Austin BBQ Cook-Off, to name a few. They have opened for Jon Wolfe, John Slaughter, Tony Jackson, and The Bellamy Brothers. They also believe in taking care of their community and frequently provide music for local benefits and “good causes.” This group of guys can make your dancehall, town festival, nightclub, bar, wedding, or private event a success with their mix of original country, country classics, Texas and mainstream Country, and just some good old Rock and Roll!
“We look for the songs that everyone knows but has forgotten, but ones that everyone loves.” Ed Johns
The band consists of Ed Johns on acoustic guitar, lead vocals, and harmony vocals, Josh Barnette on lead guitar, lead vocals, and harmony vocals, Curtis Roberson on bass, Jonathon Herridge on fiddle and harmony vocals, and our very own celebrity from the KOKE FM morning show, Scotty Bennett on drums.
“Our main goal is to keep 'em dancing" Scotty Bennett
