About this concert
A total discovery! Think The Eagles mixed with the graceful irreverence of The Pogues! Here at Square Roots we're delighted to welcome the 'awesome foursome' Track Dogs back to the Square Tower, following their Sold Our date there last year. This will no doubt sell out quickly too! We know that they are going to blow you away with their shiny happy music! Get ready to get your groove on!! The antidote to a bad day! Four part harmonies steal the show! (Maverick Magazine) Made up of two Irishmen, an Englishman and an American, the band came together in 2011 to create their unique brand of acoustic music - a veritable 4 x 4 of voices and instruments identified by the fusion of styles which include Americana, Latino, Folk, Bluegrass and (whisper it) Pop! Superior Americanajoyous stuff! (Hot Press) The Madrid-based band, whose name derives from the maintenance crews working the New York subway system, released their fourth studio album earlier this year, Kansas City Groove. It was inspired in part by their recent career-changing experiences at the Folk Alliance in Kansas City in early 2017, and the album is a mix of all that makes theTrack Dogs sound so special - in healthy doses of Americana, Latin and Folk. Sun-shiny songs thriving on dark themes behind irresistible rhythms! More information at www.squarerootspromotions.co.uk

Track Dogs Biography

Track Dogs are two Irishmen, an Englishman and an American, (Garrett Wall, Dave Mooney, Howard Brown & Robbie K.Jones), whose artistic name derives from the dark subterranean world of New York’s subway system. If they are still new to you, check out recent releases Fire on The Rails (2020) and Where to Now? (2022) and see why they are so hard to pigeonhole.

Formed in the Autumn of 2006 in Madrid around the eclectic line-up of acoustic guitar, electric bass, trumpet and cajón, over the following 17 years they have added banjo, ukulele and mandolin as well as honing their four part vocal harmonies, now very much an integral part of their “sound”.

Well-established in Spain where they are based, they are surprising music lovers everywhere with “Sun-shiny songs thriving on dark themes behind irresistible rhythms.” After a fortuitous invitation to the Costa del Folk Festival in Ibiza they have teamed up with Firebrand Music in the UK who also represent folk legends Show of Hands with whom they released a 23-track live album, “Dog Show Sessions”, in 2023.

With 7 albums under their belts (9 if you count the two they recorded as Garrett Wall Band 2006-2010) their versatile and accessible style allows Track Dogs to be at home in festivals as diverse as Americana Music Madrid, Electric Picnic (Ireland’s premiere mega-festival), Grand Northern Ukulele Festival, Shrewsbury Folk Festival, Folk Alliance International, SXSW, Cork Jazz Festival or even Trafalgar Square’s Saint Patrick’s Day Super Stage.

In 2023 they played the legendary Royal Albert Hall, made their debut at the equally legendary Glastonbury and capped it off with their 10th album, "Blind Summits & Hidden Dips", which entered the Folk Charts at No. 22.

“We’ve had many bands and artists come through our doors over the years, but Track Dogs are right up there with the very best of them, that much is certain! The connection they make with the audience is something special - smiles are the currency that they deal in with their mesmeric and ridiculously addictive sound. Destined to be huge festival favourites!”
