Fake Fake Biography

Fake Fake is vocalist/ instrumentalist Justin Campbell & producer/ instrumentalist Leith Hynds.

Sharing a mutual infatuation with an array of international and intergenerational R&B, soul, funk, and electronic artists, Hynds and Campbell are fashioning their own genre bending niche with Fake Fake. Having shared stages in the past with their respective projects Vaultry and Croatia, the duo decided to casually collaborate in August 2018 and became fast friends and creative partners.

The result has been an explosive effort of creative energy and natural chemistry that in just a few short months, has resulted in a futuristic and inventive take on their shared musical inspirations. Their self described “Disposable Love” songs are rich in gospel heavy vocal arrangements, funk-drenched guitars, offset percussion reminiscent of the late J. Dilla, and a wry wit to contrast Campbell’s contemplative lyricism.
