Finn Anderson Biography

Bridging the worlds of music and theatre, Finn Anderson is fast establishing himself as one of Scotland’s most enchanting storytellers.
A gifted wordsmith and highly accomplished composer, Finn’s songs move freely from the soft and intimate to the bold and dramatic, finding a home with an ever-growing international audience.

His second album ‘Into the Arms of Ghosts’ will be released in October 2021, marking a significant step forward in his songwriting career. With an ambitious collection of songs, this album sees Finn at his most honest lyrically, whilst confidently embracing his unique fusion of Scottish folk music and dramatic storytelling. Recorded at Chem19 Studio, the new album features some of Scotland’s finest musicians including Laura Jane Wilkie (Kinnaris Quintet), Phillip Hague (Admiral Fallow), David Bowden (Fergus McCreadie Trio, Mezcla), and classical string duo Gaia (Katrina Lee and Alice Allen). The album is supported by Creative Scotland and produced by Finn alongside Perth musician and producer David Macfarlane.

This new album follows a string of recent success including composing international hit musical ‘Islander’, a sold out US tour with Sofar Sounds, and performances at Glasgow Royal Concert Hall for Celtic Connections festival alongside Rachel Sermanni, Mischa Macpherson, C Duncan, and Man of the Minch as part of LGBTQ+ folk music collective Bogha-Frois.
