NEW RELEASE – NICO G – THE ROAD BOOK EP – July 2018
Following the success of his solo debut Acoustic Guitar in 2016, Nico G is proud to announce the release of second studio EP The Road Book.
Having toured extensively over the past 2 years, The Road Book EP is an exciting collection of new songs crafted during Nico’s time on the road. Drawing inspiration from the countries he has visited, his experiences, and the people he met along the way, The Road Book EP features 4 original tracks, each composed in a different country, and an electrifying new arrangement of classic Rolling Stones’ track ‘Paint it Black’.
The Road Book EP is an emotive and powerful collection of songs, showcasing Nico’s passion, both for song-writing, and for sharing his love of acoustic guitar music with his audience. With tracks composed whilst touring in Vienna, Canada, Germany and Scotland, which he now calls home, The Road Book EP combines emotionally charged story-telling and musicality, to create a powerful and personal account of one musician’s journey around the world.
Inspired by a range of genres, Nico draws on the musical styles he loves most, bringing his own original twist to established favourites. The blues, which have always fascinated him, go hand in hand with rock, pop and folk. His original compositions and innovative arrangements will surprise listeners with interwoven, overlying melodies, made possible by the combination of fingerpicking and flat picking techniques.
A classically trained and highly regarded acoustic guitar player for over 15 years, in 2016 Nico G chose to embark on a new challenge and began his current solo project, creating and sharing his unique finger-picking playing style with audiences worldwide. After the release of a first album, recorded in collaboration with Italian guitarist Paolo Loveri in 2015, Nico G released his solo Acoustic Guitar EP in 2016. Since this time he has played in Austria, Germany, Belgium, Scotland, England, Wales and Canada. He has had the pleasure to open and play with Jacques Stotzem and more recently to join Tommy Emmanuel on stage at his Scottish Guitar Camp. Now based in Scotland, Nico G will be touring extensively during 2018 as he shares The Road Book EP. Nico G offers audiences a high impact and energetic, yet heartfelt experience which they are unlikely to forget.
