Klas Sasse Lindbald has been making and playing seriously deep club music for more than two decades now. His mission has always been to conjure up warm atmospheres, inviting grooves and heady soundscapes that encase listeners and take them to another place, and he has done so in many different ways.

Firstly, as a DJ, he has played all over the world and will do so more than ever in 2016 with tours booked in for Europe, Asia, Australia and South America. As a producer, he never fails to cook up compelling moods and grooves on labels like Pokerflat, My Favourite Robot, Bedrock or Dirt Crew whether working solo, or as Hot Lunch with the acclaimed Ewan Pearson, as electro outfit Mr Negative with Holmar Filipsson from Thugfucker or with Innervisions star Henrik Schwarz.
As well as this, of course, he is also the boss and driving force behind the Moodmusic label, which is synonymous with classy, cerebral house and techno sounds from both new talents and established stars alike. In 2016 it will celebrate 20 years in action with some very special releases from the likes of Jonas Saalbach, Affect!, Alessio Pagliaroli, Kiki & Ed Ed, as well as with carefully planned tours. All this means the influential label is all set to continue to get played by world class DJs who appreciate its considered, unhurried and timeless output, whilst for more obscure techno sounds, Sasse also runs Machinists with Ewan Pearson, and Misericord for loved-up disco.
His current 'Ani' single on My Favorite Robot Recordings is doing all the right tricks at the moment with heavy support from the A-class djs, as well as chart entries on Beatport and further.
When not working on his own sounds, Sasse is a go-to studio wizard for lots of Berlin beat makers. He and his Blackhead Studios often take the music of Michael Mayer (Kompakt), The Presets (Modular), Camea (Bpitch Control), Blond:ish (Kompakt), Peter Pardeike (Innervisions) and Dauwd (Kompakt) to new levels with a masterful analogue approach that is full of authentic feeling.
A quarter of a century after starting out, then, Sasse is as essential to the underground electronic scene as ever.
