Hilary:
born in washington, d.c, usa 14 august 1965. growing up in dc in the 80s, she was musically raised on classical music, classic rock, early go-go, punk and hardcore (in that order), particularly the straight-edge and other dc punk scenes that included minor threat, bad brains, holy rollers, and many others, as well as the start of independent labels like dischord. at 19, she moved to san francisco in the heat of the west coast punk explosion of bands like the dead kennedys, victim's family, the dicks and mdc, venues like the vats, the farm, the mab, komotion, and gilman street, and publications like maximum rock'n'roll. she spent 10 years there squatting and protesting, and, as a drummer, eventually co-formed the jazzcore trio forethought with seminal punk musicians tommy strange and chris rankin. after forethought disbanded, she went on to form the bass/drums instrumental duo sabot with chris. in 1993 they moved to tabor in the czech republic to start the international art center cesta, and for 20 years they co-administrated the center, as well as touring all over the world as sabot, self-producing records, books and films, all with the indispensable help and support of the too-long-to-list-here autonomous and independent music scenes, bands, venues, organizers and networkers. in 1999, she formed the 5-piece all-female acapella group kačkala, which to date has released 2 albums and done several tours in europe and the usa. in 2013 she moved to abruzzo, italy to start the new international art and science laboratory invizin, and in 2016 she started singing with polemica and playing drums for RIOT.

Nata a Washington, D.C., Stati Uniti d'America 14 agosto 1965.
Crescendo a Washington D.C. negli anni '80, si è fatta le ossa con musica classica,
classic rock, early go-go, punk e hardcore (in questo ordine). E' vissuta con la straight-edge e altre scene DC punk che comprendevano Minor Threat, Bad Brains,
Holy Rollers e molti altri, così come ha visto la nascita di etichette indipendenti come Dischord. A 19 anni, si è trasferita a San Francisco nel nell'apice dell'esplosione punk della west coast, che vanta di band come i Dead Kennedys, Victim's Family, the Dicks and MDC, i locali come the vats, the farm, the mab, komotion e Gilman Street, e pubblicazioni come il Maximum Rock'n'Roll. Ha trascorso 10 anni lì, muovendosi e protestando, e in qualità di batterista, forma i Forethought, jazzcore trio insieme ai due musicisti punk Tommy Strange e Chris Rankin. Dopo lo scioglimento della band, ha fromato il duo strumentale basso/batteria Sabot con Chris. Nel 1993 la band si è trasferita a Tábor, nella Repubblica Ceca per avviare il Cesta, centro d'arte internazionale che per 20 anni i due hanno co-amministrato, così come in questi 20 anni sono stati in tour in tutto il mondo come Sabot autoproducendo album, libri e film, tutto con l'aiuto indispensabile e il sostegno della scena musicale autonoma e indipendente, band, locali, organizzatori e networkers. Nel 1999, ha formato le Kačkala, quartetto a cappella tutto al femminile, che fino ad oggi ha pubblicato 2 album e fatto diversi tour in Europa e negli USA. Nel 2013 si trasferisce a Abruzzo, Italia, per iniziare il nuovo laboratorio di arte internazionale e scienza: Invizin. Nel 2016 ha iniziato a cantare con polemica e suonare la batteria con RIOT.

A self-taught multi-instrumentalist, he has participated in several music groups since the 70’s ranging from folk and ethnic music, to progressive rock, jazz and free improvisation.
Beginning as a flutist, he also plays bass clarinet and piccolo in E-flat, the double flute, the bansuri, soprano and tenor sax, ciaramella and zampogna a chiave.
An expert in "circular breathing" on all instruments, he is always waiting to get his hands on the bass clarinet, while experimenting with unusual reeds and shaft accompaniment.
He was a member of the following groups: ErtIon, Eraorab, Oilseed Rape, Ratablò, Paranzella, GRA / D, LoFlopper, MegaPax, Orchestra of Transhumance, Roppoppò and others.
He is currently involved with Magnetic Place, Project Malafè and RIOT.

Multistrumentista autodidatta, dagli anni ’70 partecipa a diverse formazioni musicali spaziando dalla la musica popolare ed etnica, al rock progressivo, al jazz e alla libera improvvisazione.
Nato come flautista suona anche il clarinetto basso e piccolo in mib, il doppio flauto, il bansuri, sax soprano e tenore, ciaramella e zampogna a chiave.
Cultore della “respirazione circolare” su tutti gli strumenti ed in perenne attesa di mettere le mani su un clarinetto contrabbasso, nel frattempo sperimenta inediti accoppiamenti tra ance e fusti.
È stato componente dei seguenti gruppi: ErtIon, Eraorab, Colza, Ratablò, Paranzella, GRA/D, LoFlopper, MegaPax, Orchestra della Transumanza, Roppoppò ed altri.
Attualmente è impegnato con Magnetic Place, Progetto Malafè e RIOT.
