Unique. Energetic. Toe-tapping goodness. Canadian Folk Rock aficionados, Sly Violet, are making their way across the beautiful country of Canada once again this fall. Starting on the east coast, then heading west for winter promoting their latest album ‘Friends From Far Places’.
Sly Violet is a husband-and-wife duo from Kawartha Lakes, ON consisting of Violet Clarke (vocals, guitar, harmonica) and Sly Boston (drums). Their original songs combine influences of Jack Johnson, Neil Young and Sublime into a blend of indie pop folk rock. With 2 hot singles "Into the Woods" & “Love Gravity” gaining momentum, there is no better time to see them live at a show near you!

Sly Violet Biography
Unique. Energetic. Toe-tapping goodness. Sly Violet is an indie pop/folk/rock husband-and-wife duo. From small towns in Ontario and Nova Scotia, they are now based in British Columbia, Canada. The band formed in 2009 and consists of Sly Boston on drums and Violet Clarke on guitar, harmonica, keyboard, and vocals. The combination of their innovative instrumentation and Violet’s hauntingly beautiful voice, has created a sound that is refreshing to the ear.
Taking cues from Neil Young, Alanis Morissette and Jack Johnson, Sly Violet also draws inspiration from time spent in nature and the land and forests around them, often filming music videos in the beautiful Canadian landscapes.
Sly Violet is gaining momentum in Canada after touring extensively over the past decade. They’ve played hundreds of live shows across all 10 provinces in Canada. From George Street in Newfoundland, to ski resorts throughout the Rocky Mountains, to festival stages in Ontario, they have been making waves in small towns and big cities across Canada.
Multiple albums have garnered radio play and awards for their modern pop folk rock music. The album "Feel Your Way Out“ earned BEST FOLK at the Barrie New Music Awards and a nomination for BEST FOLK/ROOTS at the Toronto Independent Music Awards. Violet won the Kawartha Lakes Idol competition in 2007 and went on to be a Top 100 finalist on Canadian Idol later that year.
Sly Violet just finished a 6-week tour of Eastern Canada with over 20 shows this fall throughout Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick and Ontario promoting their latest album Friends From Far Places. They are currently located in Rossland, BC playing throughout mountain towns this winter. Cross-Canada tour coming up in 2020.
