“Houston, Texas shoegaze project, Angel Aura, is the product of many things. Shared practice spaces. Shared music tastes. Shared memories of local shows and long forgotten nights spent under the Houston heat. Yet, it is the inseparable companionship between lead vocalist Wendolyne Barrios and guitarist Nick Bailey that truly spawned the noisy, reverb-soaked, and sometimes delicate sounds of Angel Aura. Having met one another in the former projects of Shallow and DAZE, Barrios and Bailey struck a chord creatively and mentally. This lead to the creation of a new project with a focus on spiritual openness rather than the idea of tying themselves to one genre as most bands tend to do. The result is a sound as timeless as Slowdive and as modern and honest as Gleemer.
