35 Queensdown Road, Hackney Downs, Camden, London, UNITED KINGDOM
Sad House Daddy presents Starry Starry Nights, a monthly live music event held every last Wednesday of each month upstairs at The Star by Hackney Downs in east London.
Entry is £6.00 and seats are restricted to just 35 places. Here's the line-up for show #148:
8:00pm - Mish Rah
Mish Rah is a folk-rock singer-songwriter based in London, with roots in India. He grew up listening to commercial and alternative Hindi Cinema music, before being introduced to the world of rock music in his teenage years. His own music is rooted in strong lyrics, melodies and acoustic folk elements. He first moved to the U.K. a decade ago, but moved back to India in 2016 to record and perform his debut album. His work has since been featured in several publications, including Rolling Stone Magazine India. Now back living in London, Mish will be performing songs from his album, 'Conflict Of Interest', which reflect his story and cross-cultural identity.
8:40pm - Ger Lane
Ger Lane Music is a singer-songwriter from Limerick in Ireland, now based in London. He recently released his latest single, 'A Much Deeper Sigh', and is currently in the process of recording his debut album.
9:15pm - Martin Lloyd Chitty
Martin Lloyd Chitty is a singer-songwriter, a multi-instrumentalist and a composer, based in London and Lancaster. His distinctive strain of atmospheric folk blends lyrical storytelling with impeccably crafted melodies. On stage, Martin wears his heart on his sleeve, delivering a raw and emotive performance, his spine-tingling baritone alternately murmuring and soaring over sparse instrumental arrangements. Martin has opened for acts such as The Wave Pictures, Great Lake Swimmers, King Creosote, A Hawk And A Hacksaw, Baby Dee, Scout Niblett, Thomas Truax and The Coral and he released his debut album "Antiques" last year.
9:50pm - Alex Bayly
Alex Bayly is an alternative folk artist from South East London whose angular, reverberant guitars and effortless vocals, which float between a low, earthy richness to a beautifully brittle falsetto, channel the gorgeous ethereal balladry of Jeff Buckley and the off-kilter guitar work of Andy Shauf. Also influenced by artists including Nick Drake, Kevin Morby and Davy Graham, Alex released his debut EP "New America" last year and has followed it with the new single 'I'll Never Leave You' out now on Big Indie Records.
