Josh Kroehn is launching his debut EP Something I've Found at The Jade on October 11th, following it's digital release on October 4th. His debut single Processed Life was released independently in July this year, and was met with immediate success in the Triple J Unearthed charts, peaking at number 7 and earning reviews from Triple J presenters and producers: ‘This one's got this really nice laid back flavour to it. Josh wakes you and the entire street up with a massive rush of guitar.’ - Claire Mooney (Triple J) His guitar playing style as a youngster was initially driven by the energy and raw emotion of heavier music. However, a change in schools in 2011, meeting new friends, as well as personal despair all conspired to push Josh into new musical realms that revealed to him a deep-seated emotional connection to music genres of all types. Combining the diversity of his early influences in addition to those he has found later in life has shaped the type of music that he composes. The virtuosic fingerstyle guitar playing of Ben Howard, John Martyn and Nick Drake, as well as the compositional approaches from Radiohead and Talk Talk greatly influence Josh. Josh has performed in various venues around Adelaide, South Australia, delivering a live show where the audience is absorbed into his musical compositions and can expect the unexpected.
