FlashMob Biography

Born in the depths of Jay's bedroom, fueled by hangovers and living off the inspiration of long-haired legends, FlashMob is a thumping five-piece rock group from Jersey, Channel Islands. They are made up of Harry Sutton on lead vocals, James Du Heaume & Sam Mezec on guitars, Martin 'Merv' Powell on Bass and Henry Matson on Drums. FlashMob is a band that comes from a number of different influences and backgrounds. The band was the brainchild of James and original members Simon and Matt, after their previous band tragically fell through; nobody was going to hire them with a name as vulgar as that. Hiring an ambitious young vocalist was a risky move, especially considering nobody had heard Harry sing before they stuck him in front of a microphone. Henry joined soon after bringing his unique talents to the band – namely disgusting funky rhythms. After throwing in local celebrity Sam Mezec and the groovetastic basslines of Merv Powell, FlashMob's powers are finally combined, with a variety of songs ranging from going out on Wednesday nights and drinking beer to riots and two-faced liars. Mixed with the qualities that each band member possesses, FlashMob is determined to strive to reach greater heights. "With a couple of Motley Crüe covers and an original sound, I got a taste of a great young rock ‘n’ roll band I certainly want to check out in full as soon as possible" - Tom Girard, BBC Radio Guernsey 'FlashMob': A group of people who assemble suddenly in a public place, perform an unusual and sometimes seemingly pointless act for a brief time, then disperse, often for the purposes of entertainment and/or satire.
