Pure Jerry

Since 2012, Pure Jerry has had one goal: bringing life and spirit to the music of Jerry. What began as the group motto became our name. Pure Jerry continues on its mission playing great Garcia songs. Fronted by veteran jam guitarist Michael Morrow, the band explores a vast and classic songbook, showcasing versatile and fierce musicianship, and renowned signature vocals in an uncanny and haunting fashion.

They are a powerful array of talent that perform a wide range of music from Keystone–era material to early nineties' JGB shows. Pure Jerry plays shows and classic albums in their entirety, as well as timeless Grateful Dead tunes, and does it all with a vibrant energy that is first class and unmatched by any other. Led by Morrow's passionate Garcia–style vocals, the band uniquely takes on the best songs imaginable. With a combined lifetime of Grateful Dead experience and pedigree, Pure Jerry lets the music do the talking.

The band has headlined many festivals including Kind Roots 5, Soupergroove, Goodtimes Getdown, Groovelink Harvest, Opple Topple, and Who Hill Family Campout. They have also had top billing at large venues including New Year's Eve 2013 at Triumph Brewpub in New Hope, PA; the Queen in Wilmington, DE; Ardmore Music Hall in Ardmore, PA; and World Cafe Live in Philadelphia, PA. Notably Pure Jerry has twice celebrated sold out shows at the Theatre of Living Arts on Jerry Garcia's birthday, August 1, in both 2014 and 2015. Pure Jerry brings the authentic sounds of the original Grateful Dead and Jerry Garcia Band, expertly weaving between the iconic musicians' many styles and eclectic song selections.
