About this concert
Returning in full-force, The Biology of Plants (TBOP) are ready to launch their long-awaited album Vol. 2 (Art as Catharsis Records). Featuring Helen Svoboda (bass guitar/effects/vox), Joshua Rivory (synthesiser/keys), Simon Svoboda (cello) and Charles Hill (drums), their sound combines the harmonic richness of the likes of Sigur Ros, the quirkiness of Phillip Glass and the rhythmic complexity of Tigran Hamasyan. The compositions are solely inspired by nature, simulating a live film score amidst a state of spacial ambience. Following their recent QLD Music Awards win for 'Best Jazz Song of 2019', their second album 'Vol. 2' promises an immersive release that balances lush compositions with understated technicality and astounding textural detail. Released through Art As Catharsis, TBOP is stoked to share the stage with local gypsy legends Cigány Weaver and the hectically dynamic duo of Benjamin Shannon and Sophie Min that is Shamin.~~~~ This is a show not to be missed. Love the plants! ~~~~*Pre-order the album here: https://thebiologyofplants.bandcamp.com/album/vol-2-3
