Drum & Lace

Drum & Lace is an artist and composer from Florence, Italy currently based in London, UK. Her music has been described as being genre-fluid and having a "chameleon-like nature" (A Closer Listen), melding together sampled field recordings, lush layers of synths, chamber instruments and electronic beats. She draws inspiration from film music, music concrete and nature to create textural electronica, often blending unlikely sounds with one another.

Her debut LP Natura, released in 2022 on ambient vinyl label Past Inside the Present, features appearances from the London Contemporary Orchestra (LCO) and Italian drummer Valentina Magaletti, and was been mixed by Paul Corley (Liminal / Sigur Ros) and mastered by Joshua Eustis (Telefon Tel Aviv). As mentioned by music publication Vehlinggo - “[Drum & Lace makes] electronic music sound organic — compositions that feel like they live and breathe.”

Her most recent EP, 'Frost', is an all ambient & vocal collection of works, and was released in January 2023.

Drum & Lace’s composition work includes music for film/tv, most notably on projects such as AppleTV+ Original Series 'Dickinson' and 20th Century Studios' 'Rosaline', as well as music for dance, theater, and other mixed media.
