Tim Rose is a funk/soul songwriter from Honolulu, Hawaii. A Tacoma born, Hawaii raised funky white boy; Soulful, Organic, Funky, and Smooth are words regularly equated with his music. Now based in Los Angeles, he tours around the west coast promoting his brand new Visual Album 3. His voice is a rough blue velvet His guitar playing a deep funk pocket. His 2018 release 3 was created after years of sacrifice and soul searching deep in the funk jungles of Hawaii. The visual album counterpart to this album was funded by his fans to the tune of $30,000 on Kickstarter, a total fundraising of over $60,000. He is a full time performer, touring regularly and playing shows all over the world. He has a social media reach of 16,000, over 165,000 views on youtube, over 100,000 plays on Spotify and plays over 200 shows a year. Hes had 3 songs he wrote and sang successfully synced on MTV, CBS, and CMT. Hes shared the stage with acts like Allen Stone, Sophistafunk, Lyrics Born, Deandre Brackensick and headlined successful club shows in Hawaii (Blue Note), Los Angeles (Hotel Cafe), Seattle (Triple Door), Portland (Jack London Revue) San Fransisco (Boom Boom Room), NAMM 2017-2019, ASCAP Expo, and his music videos Be Myself, Sirens, and Please please have all garnered film festival best music video awards.

Tim Rose Biography
Tim Rose is a songwriter currently living in his Chevy van on the island of O’ahu. Writing and performing are all he does. He is so obsessed with music that he gave away almost all his belongings in order to more effectively pursue his dreams. He moved out of his apartment and adopted an ascetic lifestyle. A minimalist musical monk, devoutly praying to the gods of funk and soul to deliver him from temptation. His passion is a force of nature, driving him to divinity or insanity— whichever comes first.
He wasn’t always this way. He started playing music in high school. A rowdy young drunk, a lost soul trying to be like Jimmy Page in more ways than one. He got so good so quick that less than two years after picking up his instrument— he was accepted to the University of Hawaii on a scholarship. He studied music theory half-time, he was more interested in studying narcotic chemistry. After an unsuccessful run, he bottomed out in a ditch in Tacoma, Washington.
After getting out of rehab, one of Tim’s best friends died from drugs. His guitar was his only friend. Music was the light at the end of the tunnel. It got him through the darkness. His guardian angels were Bill Withers, Eric Clapton, Stevie Wonder, Prince. They sang from on high, where he climbed out of his ditch and got sober. Music is his salvation, it saved his life.
In 2015, Tim recorded his debut album on a chocolate farm in the eastern jungle of Kauai. He is ready to share his rough blue silk voice with the world. He plays 250 shows a year, and writes feverishly in his van. Under the stars he sleeps with his head towards the sky, dreaming of ways to reach you.
