Dan Kouba and the Journeymen Biography
Dan Kouba & The Journeymen having been together for only a few years, have made a name for themselves, featuring the song writing of Dan Kouba.
Kouba a few years back having serious heart problems, had to endure open heart surgery. Ultimately, Kouba’s surgeon recommended that he alter his fast-paced life in order for the surgery to have a lasting effect on his life.
Taking heed of his surgeons’ recommendation, Dan turned to music, taking guitar and vocal lessons, finding a gift of poetic composition that led to him to song writing.
Dan soon took to the studio, recording the CD “Open Heart". The recording included 6 of Dan's original songs. Later, a final CD was cut featuring those original works and the cover songs: Gotta Serve Somebody, House of the Rising Sun, Today, Wagon Wheel, and My Old Man.
Eventually, the songs Open Heart, Ode to a Rabbit, Yellow Table, Thank You Mom, Church Lady, and his latest, Yes, I Can, from the bands “Open Heart” CD would get local airplay.
Although the band’s focus is on original works, they cover tunes over a variety of genres.
