Hvnnibvl Biography

John J. Hannibal V, aka HVNNIBVL, is a 21 year old producer, vocalist, songwriter, and audio engineer from Buffalo, NY. Beginning with the drum set at the early age of 3, John expressed his interest for music, which was heavily brought on by the many different cultures within the community of households in which he was raised. Also at an early age, John began to express his vocal ability. At the age of 12, he began to produce music, generally with influences from hip hop and dance music. At 15, HVNNIBVL began to incorporate his vocal ability in his music, and put out a mixtape on Datpiff. Between the ages of 15-18, he worked constantly to develop his niche, which became a specialty in Pop music with influences primarily from Electronic Dance Music, Funk, and R&B. In 2015, he released his debut album titled “Pacific Dreams” in which he sang, wrote, produced, and mixed the album in its entirety.

Despite having released multiple singles and one album with little exposure, HVNNIBVL’s career began to rise in 2016. HVNNIBVL’s success began with two consecutive features on music blogging site “Good Music All Day”, one for an original titled “Vinandi”, the other for a remix. Shortly before the release of his next EP titled “You Don’t Know This Story”, his release “Lose” with The EDM Network label imprint, Artist Intelligence Agency, saw him find success with a current combined total of over 850,000 streams between Spotify and Soundcloud. “Lose” also charted at #6 in Spotify’s Most Viral Tracks in June 2016 in the United Kingdom, propelled by making it into the Spotify “Fresh Finds” playlist. The success of this song enabled him to find better success among future 2016 releases, and helped to give him a platform for his music. 2016 also saw him release another song with the AIA label, get a release on Hype Machine, develop artist verification on Spotify, and gather press with dance music blogging sites “Your EDM”, “Run The Trap”, and “Nest HQ”.

2017 has proven even more successful for HVNNIBVL in terms of global appeal, having charted in Spotify's United Kingdom Viral 50 early on in February. In February he also released a vocal collaboration with duo "it's different" titled "Will You I Will", which released through the Trap Nation label imprint, Lowly Palace, and amassed hundreds of thousands of plays yet again. In May 2017, HVNNIBVL released his first solo track of the year, "On & On", independently under his "HVN" imprint. "On & On" found instant success, being featured with Clash Magazine, The Vibe Guide Youtube channel, Thissongslaps, multiple Spotify Dance playlists, and contained many more notable placements, with over 85,000 streams combined and hundreds of thousands of youtube plays. In July 2017, HVNNIBVL was featured again as a vocalist for the official release of the Djakarta Warehouse Project 2016 Festival Theme Song, "Focus", which charted in Indonesia. The latter half of 2017 also awaits further vocal collaborations, solo releases, and more from HVNNIBVL, including his "On & On Remixes" package due August 11th 2017.
