About this concert
Ofrenda is a fundraiser for the Philadelphia indigenous community. We emphasize this over everything else. Entry is $7 - $10 / $2 for access card holders. Vamos a tener mucho para todxs! There will be lots to see and do. We will have an outdoor bazaar, scavenger cleanup, raffle and @djdameluz Deadname.arts' poets, and Raquel Salas will perform. Inisde the Barn we'll have a pop up gallery with @unskilledlabor bartending Tecate, Jamaica y Horchata, and a body modification salon with tattoo artist @yazziemojo , @tinta_y_dolores and @basmati_hotti . Before performances we'll have story time for the younger attendees, face painting through out the whole event! Full Schedule: 12PM - 3PM DJ DAME LUZ Community Bazaar, Food Vendors and Tarot Reading by @photosyntheslut_ Scavanger Cleanup - fill a bag with trash from the trail and win a prize! LindoYes Biography

Lindo is a spoken word artist, photographer, actor, and emcee. Born and raised in Philadelphia,PA. Lindo has created a buzz by performing at open mics, and being visible in the Philadelphia spoken word scene. He has been featured at Busboy and Poets in Washington, D.C., Germantown Poetry Festival, The Legendary Dobbs and many other Philadelphia open mic venues. Lindo is known for “articulating life, making everything living my canvas, and creating images with words.” It is this compelling talent that allows him to appeal to individuals from all walks of life. His influences range from metaphysical poet John Donne to artists such as Nat King Cole, comedian George Carlin, Joe Budden, MisConception, Funeral for A Friend, Fall Out Boys, Clipse, Talaam Acey, and many others. He draws inspiration from television shows like “The Wire” and “Heroes”, and the film “The Butterfly Effect”. In 2009, Lindo made his acting debut, starring as Bashir Hines in the “The Nigga Files,” which a coming age story about young men overcoming stigmas press upon them, written and directed by Donja Love. When Lindo is not performing, Lindo volunteers his time by participating in and giving workshops and discussions at schools, community centers, and colleges. He has hosted the Germantown Poetry Festival, an annual event dedicated to celebrating youth empowerment and voices through poetry in Philadelphia. He has also hosted many other spoken word and performance events in the Philadelphia area. Lindo has been a speaker at several English conferences, including the 2009 Mid-Atlantic College Students Literary Conference, the 2007 Northeast Modern Language Association and others. In addition to his performance, community outreach, acting, and hosting work, Lindo also enjoys making music and shooting event photography for organizations such as the Hip Hop Party for the People, AfroFuturist Affair, and photoshoot with emerging artists. He recently released a number music projects, which include “What Dreams May Come” and “3-Pointers”. “3 Pointers,” a 3 song mixtape done in collaboration with rap artist Black Cancer, is about “taking shots from afar to reach for [their] goals.” “3-Pointers” can be downloaded at www.onpointink.bandcamp.com The video for “Drive-by ft. Wurv,” the first song released off the mixtape can be found at: http://youtu.be/pKQ_lOfQ-gs. He also release his rap mixtape “Dreams Inspire(d)” in May 2013 which can be download at www.lindoyes.bandcamp.com and viewed the first single "Helping Smile" at http://youtu.be/I4LViDC7c_g. Lindo defines himself as being “most thoughtful because I take the time to convey life in the wittiest ways.” He “conceives thoughts to impregnate the mind and see the abortion of ignorance.” A member of the creative collective On Point Ink, (which also includes Steve Megga, Alisha, Marquis and Black Cancer), Lindo looks forward to the rest of the world discovering who he is and why he is here.
