About this concert
Yosh & Yimmy is Josh Glenn and Jimmy Willden, two independent Texas songwriters with unique sounds all of their own and a repertoire to back it up. They joined forces in early 2018 to begin writing good old fashioned folk songs with an emphasis on thoughtful lyrics and harmonizing vocals.

Josh Glenn Experiment Biography

The Josh Glenn Experiment is the one man folk band led by the San Antonio based musician, Josh Glenn. Armed with a soulful voice, an acoustic guitar, and the occasional tap of the looping pedal; Josh pieces together unique rhythms and sounds right before the listener’s eyes. The listener becomes entranced and enveloped into the musical process as energy is reciprocated between the moving of hips and the layering of sounds. Sometimes folky singer-songwriter, sometimes spontaneous mad-folk scientist, Josh takes you on a very personal musical journey, utilizing unique techniques along the way.

It started in 2006 with the purchase of a looping pedal. Glenn was inspired to get one after seeing the performance of another local looping artist. With a desire to become a maestro at solos, playing “lead guitar”, and just a unique style of creating a different sound using this looping method- Josh ended up branding a new sound all his own.

“The experimental part of the Josh Glenn Experiment came from my early shows back when I first started exploring with these looping pieces before they were really songs” Glenn states. “I had all these bits of lyrics written on torn pieces of paper and paired them with short and simple guitar riffs. I just started experimenting with different combinations by mixing up old lyrics with new music and visa versa. I would improvise with these different pieces of a puzzle and build it up layer by layer to see what became of it. I enjoyed the process of doing these musical experiments so much that I started doing them live. Over the years these experiments have evolved into new and expanding territories that tell a multi-faceted story through the ever expanding musical layers.”

“Orange Moon” is the articulate debut album by the Josh Glenn Experiment which was released in December of 2016 and produced by Brant Sankey. This meticulous album took just over a year to complete, the final product showcases the culmination of various unique musical approaches and the collaboration efforts of many talented local musicians.

Following the release of “Orange Moon”, Glenn has experienced various accolades such as winning the San Antonio 2017 Fusion Fest contest to perform live on TV (watch the live performance here: http://news4sanantonio.com/sa-living/josh-glen-performance) He was also named by The Culture Trip as “(one of) 10 new musicians in Texas you should know (published March 4th, 2017.https://theculturetrip.com/north-america/usa/texas/articles/10-new-musicians-from-texas-you-should-know/).” Glenn was also hand selected and chosen by a panel to receive a free music video for his song, “Make Believe”. Santikos Entertainment sponsored the music video showcase which was also organized by San Antonio Sound Garden and Alamo City Studios. Josh was paired up with local director, Rod Guajardo. It premiered at the palladium IMAX theater June 20th and won first place in the inaugural Riffs & Reels music video showcase (watch the music video here: https://youtu.be/krU8bzTcpVQ).
He was also invited into the Texas Public Radio studios earlier this year for a short segment that was later pieced together into an article titled “Josh Glenn Experiment is as Experimental as it gets”. Glenn spends most of his time playing in the San Antonio and surrounding area, and has garnered a ton of love and support from his local fan base. He receives regular airplay on San Antonio’s two college radio stations and has been a regular performer at the King William Fair, a very popular fiesta event here that draws over 40k people annually. Glenn currently has his eyes set on the west Texas road and far out into the mountains of Colorado and beyond. He plans to release a new single later this year and a follow up EP by early Spring of 2018.
