Bitter Buddha

Bitter Buddha is a 4-piece band from Portland, OR whose goal is to forget about how awful the world can be for the duration of a song or two. Our message is not a nihilistic one, though we are living in nihilistic times. Rather, our gospel is one of emptiness and compassion. Our sound draws heavily from guitar-oriented rock of all shades and stripes. We also enjoy the rhythms of stand-up comedy, the composition of video game soundtracks, and the samples and stories of hip-hop.

You may hear bits and pieces of political speech from some familiar voices, but we rarely push a particular policy. Instead, we seek instances of unfiltered humanity, hidden deep within the trappings of the modern news cycle.
