About this concert
Woodburner is proud to present our weekly festival, every Tuesday at Dalston Eastern Curve Garden through the summertime, with world-class father and son collaboration The Baillie Duo, instrumental sax collective Silvertongue and sensational singer-pianist Natalie Holmes. The Baillie Duo Father and son duo Alexander Baillie (cello) and Max Baillie (violin) have been playing together for over 30 years since when Max began the violin aged 5. Alexander was a star of the classical world, appearing as soloist at the BBC Proms 6 times. Max has caught up a little and has appeared all over the world and collaborated with artists including Bjork, Steve Reich, John Williams, Bobby McFerrin, Baaba Maal, and many others. The Baillie Duo’s repertoire has evolved since the early days of ‘Sad Swans’ and ‘The Crabs of Walberswick’, and now  includes most of the major pieces written for the violin-cello combination, including the Brahms Double Concerto which they toured with South Africa’s national orchestra last year. https://youtu.be/7Rs2KAlmgnk Silvertongue Saxophonist Stacey Silvertongue is one of the leading lights in London's live music scene, collaborating with a huge number of Artists including Baby Bam, The Doves, Mount Nakara and leading DJs in dance music. Her music brings together her love of live instrumental music, drawing influence from acts such as Cinematic Orchestra and Snarky Puppy to create rich cinematic soundscapes which sweep audiences away. On the night she will be joined by a full band to realise this project live for the Curve Garden audience. https://youtu.be/-DbKqfc4DII Natalie Holmes Bristol-based singer/songwriter Natalie Holmes writes lilting, haunting and yet somehow invigorating pop, with honey toned vocals and an incredible depth to every song. Although just into her twenties, Natalie has clocked up four successful EP’s: The Simplest Things, Child, Over & Out and her last release, Calm Places, all of which featured in the iTunes and Top 10 Singer/Songwriter Charts and earn’t her spots at 2000 Trees, How The Light Gets In Festival, Dot to Dot Festival and support slots with the likes of Lewis Watson, Gabrielle Aplin and Sam Brookes. Natalie’s 2018 singles “Hideout” and “Vessels” received airplay on BBC Radio 2, BBC Bristol and also received support on CLASH, Record of the Day and play-listing from the likes of PopFiltr. ‘She writes the kind of tunes that get inside your head and don’t let go' - BBC Introducing in the West https://youtu.be/6_GfDPvhmSU ABOUT THIS EVENT Since our first season in 2013, our event at Dalston Eastern Curve Garden has always inspired audiences in a unique and thrilling way.
