Rick Lee & The Night Owls

By Craig Hlavaty We got to partake in the pleasure that is the Hideaway on Dunvale for steak night one Tuesday, and it included the magical blues stylings of Rick Lee & The Night Owls. Lee and his band do ZZ Top, Bobby "Blue" Bland and B.B. King covers. The Hideaway is a ways out of the Inner Loop, but don't let that keep you away during the week — the show is that much fun. On the night we hit it up, we witnessed Lee playing his axe with the leg of a chair and even licking the strings at one point, challenging the laws of man and machine. It was a good night for everyone, and we're sure the guitar had no complaints either. Since it's steak night, you will leave with a full belly — a slab of meat and a baked potato — and a happy heart full of the blues, both locally and globally grown.
