Kid Harlequin Biography

The Dutch rock band Kid Harlequin has recently released their third fantastic album with their very first single called ITCH!

It was launched with two major album release shows in Amsterdam and Rotterdam at the end of 2016. This was also the first time that Kid Harlequin was available on vinyl records. Their year also ended with a bang supporting Alter bridge and Placebo at the Heineken Music Hall and Ziggo dome at the after shows and support Mushroomhead in Tivoli.

Kid Harlequin’s music presents a polished version of boisterous, punchy industrial rock. You can expect rock with a dark atmosphere (reminiscent of Perfect Circle, Deftones), powerful guitar riffs, melodic vocals, electronic elements and most of all, a captivating stage presence! Hailing from South Africa, born guitarist AriJo’s notoriously feisty stage performance is sure to get the crowd pumped up. More international roots are brought to the band by formidable drummer Erik Stein who is originally from Luxemburg. An extra edge is added to their latest album with collaborations with the famous Marcela Bovio (well known as the singer form Stream of Passion) and also with a string quartet.

2014 was a busy year for Kid Harlequin with 55 shows and the release of the first EP. Since then they have released 2 albums and have made their way to international borders touring in Germany and the United Kingdom as well as touring throughout the Netherlands. Notable shows in the Netherlands include Baroeg open air, Popronde, De Grote Prijs and supporting shows from Raketkanon and Green Lizard.
