Matthew Colin adventures norht from the Victorian goldfields to hit the stage at what can only be described as the best venue in Australia. He brings with him the philosophy of history’s great songwriters “a song and a friend for every mile behind”. It’ll only take listening to one or two lines to find a writer of considered craft, values nested in a time of country folk music when all that mattered was the song itself. (Performing 8.30-9.30) Matthew is joined by a Brisbane local by way of the sleepy harbour town of Portsmouth, in the South-Coast of England, Milow Pye. Through delicate instrumentation brandished with cathartic lyricism, Milow Pye uses his unique sound to explore the relationship between poetry and music, finding melodies in the melancholy and expresses these deeply personal moments - sonically laying bare.
