Carvin Jones, "The King of the Strings" was voted one of the 50 greatest blues guitarists of all-time by Guitarist Magazine. "Carvin Jones is a young cat out of Phoenix who I think is the next up-and-coming blues player" - Eric Clapton "Carvin Jones is one of the brightest young stars on the blues scene today" - Albert Collins "The New King of Strings is Carvin Jones" - Buddy Miles "'....one of the best blues guitarists in the world..." - London Surrey News The Carvin Jones Band is an explosive blues trio fronted by the world renown Carvin Jones on guitar and vocals, bassist Joe Edwards and drummer Levi Velasquez. Together the band has played 36 countires on 3 continents in 24 months and has been well recieved by critics and fans alike. The band currently averages around 330 live performances a year. 2017 is shaping up to be to be another very busy year for Carvin and the band. They recently completed a 4 week tour of Netherlands, Germany and France. They have a new LP in the works, recently recorded in Spain and set for release later in the year. They will be touring the United States, Canada, Spain, Portugal, Serbia, Poland, Italy, United Kingdom, Argentina, Brazil and Spain with an appearance at the 2017 Cazorla Blues Festival in Cazorla, Spain. The lineup includes Tajmo (The Taj Mahal & Kebmo Band), Doyle Bramhal II, Kenny Neal, Nikki Hill, John Nemeth, Muis Maker, Reyes Ko, Julian Maeso, Pedo Peinado Blues Band, Hombre Garabato, Saxophonistas Salvajes, The Wild Horses, Trizia Band, Mambo Jambo, The Niftys and J Teixi Band. In 2013-2016 the trio has appeared at several major blues and music festivals including Cerdanyola Blues Festival (Barcelona, Spain), Grollo Intl Blues Fest (Grollo, Netherlands), Otwock Blues festival (Warsaw, Poland), International Jazz Festival (Kraljevo, Serbia), Con Alma de Blues Festival (Buenos Aires Argentina), Sisak Blues Festival (Sisak, Croatia) and In Wires Festival (Uzice, Serbia). In September 2016 they appeared on the late night show Radio 3 on RTVE National Television in Spain which drew 20 million viewers. On June 23, they performed their biggest show to date in Valladolid, Spain. 60,000 were in attendance for Carvin's 50th Birthday show. Prior to ther current incarnation of the band, Carvin has a long 25 year history of success worldwide. We has released 3 LP's - What You Need (1999), The Carvinator (2008) and Victory is Mine (2014). He has played countless festivals, made numerous televison appearances and has received praise and recognition from some of the top artists in the blues world. He has pleased music fans worldwide with his high energy show and electrifying guitar style. He has shared the stage and toured with legends including BB King, Santana, Jeff Beck, Albert King, Albert Collins, The Animals, REO Speedwagon, Jimmy Vaughan, Double Trouble and many more. Carvin himself has performed with Joe Cocker and the Fabulous Thunderbirds. Carvin even played in Iraq and Kuwait in 2011. Carvin Jones was born in Lufkin, Texas. His remarkable energy, showmanship and guitar ability have made him a favorite of music fans and fellow musicians alike all over the world. At a very young age, he was seduced by the blues by listening to BB King records his grandfather constantly played in the house and started playing guitar himself by age 11. He escaped a rough neighborhood by dedicating his time to his guitar and by age 19 had moved to Arizona to start his music career. In January 2001, Guitarist Magazine named Carvin Jones "one of the top 50 blues guitarists of all time!" Carvin Endorses Fender Guitars and Amplifiers. On drums, Levi Velasquez of Phoenix, AZ has brought tremendous energy and excitement to Carvin's already electrifying show. Levi has played with many bands throughout the United States and has shared the stage with some of the most prolific popular music artists of today in a variety of genres. Levi's style complements Carvin's versitility with his ability to play many types of music, from classic slow blues and jazz to hard rock and pop. Levi has 21 years of experience in rock, blues, jazz as well as Latin, marching and orchestral percussion. Levi is a member of the Percussive Arts Society and the United States Coast Guard Auxiliary Band. Levi endorses Pearl Drums and Hardware, Evans Drum Heads, Kickport Sound Enhancement, Vic Firth Drumsticks, Soultone Cymbals and Love Custom Snare Drums. "Drummer Levi Velasquez is an extremely well educated percussion virtuoso who completes the music with elements of rock, jazz and Latin music". - Bilety FM, Poland "Drummer Levi Velasquez and bassist Joe Edwards both have a strong sense of rhythm, play with clockwork precision and each put on a solo show that is world class". - Blues News Magazine, Germany The newest addition to the band is bassist Mario Ciancarella. Born in L’Aquila, Mario currently resides in Rome. He studied bass and double bass with some of the most important italian international musicians including Gianfranco Gullotto, Luca Bulgarelli, Marco Siniscalco, Massimo Moriconi at the best schools in Rome and L'Aquila (Saint Louis College of Music, Percentomusica, Conservatorio "A. Casella"). Since 2009 he has performed in different venues all over Italy racing several stages (Auditorium Renzo Piano in L'Aquila, Teatro Traetta in Bitonto and many others) with different music genres (Rock, Blues, Jazz, Pop, Funk, Soul).
