About this concert
The Sagra del Pesce, or Fish Festival is held on the last Saturday in September every year on Fornillo beach. All the sunloungers and umbrellas are cleared away from the beach so that people can dance and sit and eat on the beach.
Jodi will perform solo at 8pm and will be singing her song 'Vali' in tribute to the great, late artist Vali Myers who made Positano her home for many years. Jodi will also perform songs from her latest album 'Becoming'.
Jodi Phillis is an ARIA nominated singer songwriter, composer and artist who first made her mark on the Australian cultural landscape with alt-rock band The Clouds.
Jodi has forged a parallel career as an independent, influential solo singer/songwriter, producing five critically acclaimed albums under her own name and with the groups The Dearhunters, Roger Loves Betty, and The Glamma Rays.
For her latest independent solo release ‘Becoming’, Jodi returned to her default mode of singer songwriter, mining the deep seam of neo-romantic chamber folk-pop.
Successfully crowdfunded and produced by Tim Oxley, Becoming is an acoustic, intimate account of grief and it’s fallout. Real life is flipped inside out and transformed into vintage filtered songs that celebrate life and love and the quest to find meaning in a broken world.
Becoming evokes cherished memories, childhood day dreams, and visions of a longed for utopia, while urging the listener to follow their bliss.
Jodi’s live performances are raw and heartfelt, idiosyncratic and warm. Her expressive voice and deeply personal lyrics engage listeners from all walks of life.
