Grayson Michael Biography

Centerville, Tennessee is famously known as the Grand Ole Opry’s own Minnie Pearl’s hometown. But now there’s another act emerging from this small town.

Grayson Michael has been in music his entire life. Beginning at the age of 7 he began taking piano lessons. Continuing on throughout his teens he was very involved in piano competitions with classical and jazz styles. At the same time he became a member of The Grinders Switch Ensemble, a weekly live radio show that broadcasts every Saturday morning. Through the years of getting to play alongside of legendary artists such as Ed Bruce, Crickets, Michael W. Smith, Melinda Doolittle, and many others, he began to hone his craft as an instrumentalist. Michael moved to Nashville, Tennessee, and was accepted to Belmont University where he completed his degree in Commercial Music Piano Performance. While at Belmont, he began singing and crafting his love of country music through songwriting.

His self-titled debut EP released in early 2016. Recorded at the legendary Omni Studios in the heart of Nashville, traditional country music is back with Michael’s own signature flair. With multi-platinum mixing engineer Dave Pursley at the controls and co-producers Brandon Andrew and Campbell himself, the heart and soul of what made country music what is it today shines through. Between Michael’s traditional rootsy baritone voice, his hand crafted songs about everyday life, and pedal steel guitar that cries all throughout the EP, listeners will know that traditional country music back in full force.

“I wanted to make an album that was true to myself and true to country music,” Michael says. With influences such as George Strait, Randy Travis, George Jones, Keith Whitley, Conway Twitty, and even Chris Young, pure country sound just pours through each track. “The songs are about things I have been through in my life that other people can relate to. I want people to feel like they known me better after they listen to this album. They will hear the influences of the legends that paved the way for the artists of today, and know my roots of where I come from.”
