One Night 2 Great acts Modern Country is coming to the East Kilbride Village Theatre on Saturday 17th August, with two full sets from Scotland leading acts. RAINTOWN: Raintown fuse a passion for Country Music with their eclectic musical influences and continue the tradition of exciting new music to emerge from Scotland. Their electrifying live performances and well crafted songs have elevated this impressive duo to new heights and cemented their place as one of the UK’s leading ‘new breed’ of Country acts. They will be exclusively showcasing brand new material at this special East Kilbride show. 16 awards in 5 years, two critically acclaimed albums this Glasgow-based duo deliver a startling take on contemporary country that is both firmly-rooted and unashamedly forward-thinking. Their intensely charismatic live performances are imbued with a spirit and energy that that make them a stand out act and one you must see. They present a polished mix of lyrical story telling that’s hard to ignore. Complimented by bright, up-tempo guitar-led Americana, Country pop-rock all arranged around superb harmonies and the duo’s trade mark back and forth vocals. Raintown have firmly established themselves as one of the best live acts in the UK, with stellar performances at C2C-Country2Country Festival, Nashville Meets London, Party at the Palace, Belladrum Festival, supporting Deacon Blue at Montrose Music Festival and Runrig at the iconic Shepherd’s Bush Empire, London. KATEE KROSS Katee Kross is one of the fastest rising stars on the rapidly growing UK Country scene. This 22 year old, Glasgow native, has already gained an impressive live CV, performing at the likes of Wembley Arena, SEE Hydro and the world famous King Tut’s Wah Wah Hut; working with with some fantastic and diverse artists, such as Seasick Steve, Dougie MacLean, Barbara Dickson, James Grant and Findlay Napier. With a career that has already seen the release of three, self-penned, Albums which has shown an impressive and beautiful progression of original music following a young artist as she matures as a songwriter. Maverick Magazine commented that her album was “simply excellent and staggering album" and Country In My Veins saying, “New Country with an old soul.” Along with her fantastic band, The Amberjax they recently headlined the Country on the Clyde weekend, winning over a large number of new fans and fantastic reviews. 2018 also saw them appear at 11 festivals across the UK, with C2C Glasgow (SSE Acoustic Stage), Burnsfest, Mugstock and Millport Country Music Festival amongst them. With a live reputation that has continued to grow with performances that included, a successful UK tour, Country2Country at London's O2 Arena, Party at the Palace Music Festival, Belladrum Music Festival, supporting Deacon Blue at Montorse Music Festival, Runrig at the iconic Shepherd’s Bush Empire and American, Josh Kelley in Glasgow.
