MYTHIC VALLEY Hailing from Salt Lake City, Mythic Valley set out to combine the earnest intimacy of folk with the grit of indie music. Their sound is eclectic, yet warm and personal, echoing the timeless storytelling of Americana, with a modern twist. Inspired by contemporary artists as diverse as The Shins, The Good Old War, Band of Horses, and Dawes the band blends in lush melodies with introspective lyrics and beautiful soundscapes, as shown on their recent full length release "A Monument, a Dream." I grew up in the cowboy filled, equality state, ol' Wyoming. My upbringing near the mountains and affinity for thriftiness is apparent in my sound and soulful delivery. As a youngin', I recognized my natural tendency to make noise (of musical nature) on anything from wooden spoons and rocks in the alleyway, to the dusty, out of tune piano and Elmer's roughly repaired guitar in the living room. I've been singing and stomping, hootin'-n-hollerin', and ramblin' on ever since. It is through songwriting and performance that I become the most authentic version of myself.
