Native Young

Native Young is an award winning South African supergroup created by songwriter and producer Yannick Wilde. When asked how he would describe the project - he says, “It’s a constantly evolving tapestry of culture, music and togetherness”

Beginning in Cape Town as a home recording experiment for Yannick - Native Young has transformed into a live music collective of rotating talent across Africa and Europe. A fusion of anthemic uplifting vocals, indie electronica and raw African rhythm - their live show is nothing short of spectacular. Recent accolades include A SAMA (South African Music Award) for 'Best Alternative Album' with 'Kings', smash single 'Erase' remixed by Black Motion coming in at #1 on the 5fm dance charts in South Africa and playing stand out sets at international festivals Fusion (Germany), Zermatt Unplugged (Switzerland) and Lake of Stars (Malawi). 

As for the future, Native Young will be releasing a collection of new singles in 2023 beginning with ‘ZOLA’ - a unique kwaito/folk song that explores the story of man’s longing for an illusive lover. They will be promoting these exciting new tracks with exclusive show case performances in Europe and South Africa. Audiences can expect to laugh, dance, cry and sing during what promises to be a string of captivating performances before the brotherhood retreats into rural South Africa to finish writing and producing their highly anticipated sophomore album - scheduled for release in 2024.
