Jazz vocalist and global icon Dee Dee Bridgewater headlines KJazz 88.1 FM’s Summer Benefit Concert with her piano trio. Not content to just sing, Bridgewater has done it all, and has the street cred to prove it: She’s a triple Grammy winner, a Tony Award-winner (for The Wiz), a UN Goodwill Ambassador, producer, record label head and all-around jazz legend. Acclaimed vocalist/guitarists Raul Midón and Lionel Loueke open the show, both separately and together. The Grammy-nominated Midón has collaborated with Herbie Hancock, Stevie Wonder, Queen Latifah and more, while Loueke has been a member of Herbie Hancock’s band for over 10 years and recorded and toured with a range of artists, from Terence Blanchard to Angelique Kidjo and Luciana Souza. This concert at the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles promises to be an evening to remember.
