Calmwithaperiod Biography
Calm. is an Atlanta-based indie post-punk band that formed in May of 2018 by vocalist Travis Gouré and guitarist Victor Piacente. The parity of their personal lives sparked musical inspiration, leading to the creation of their first two songs, “By Comparison” and “Blacklisted.” Soon after, Harrison Patten and Robby Bolmon joined on bass and drums. Blending the dark melodic elements of indie bands like Manchester Orchestra, with the driving heaviness of The Story So Far and Microwave, Calm. unravels the juxtaposition of serenity and chaos.
Their music is both narrative and confessional, aiming to give space for their fears and insecurities, while recognizing the redemptive qualities of their individual paths. Calm. has played at venues like The Masquerade and Smith’s Olde Bar in Atlanta and have been featured on popular California podcast Going Deep with Chad and JT. They currently have three singles available for streaming and are working on their debut EP at Gabriel Studios. They will continue trying to grow into more sincere individuals, allowing their music to represent who they are: people who should have died but didn’t.
