CHIEFLAND

CHIEFLAND entstand unter Federführung von Achim (Gitarre) und Christian (Drums). Energiegeladen, auf der Suche nach einem neuen Klang und inspiriert durch „The Wave“-Bands (Touché Amoré, La Dispute, Defeater und andere) begannen die beiden im Sommer 2014 neue Ideen zu entwickeln und umzusetzen. Wenige Monate später kamen Niki (Bass) sowie Corwin, Sänger und Texter der Band, mit ins Boot. Das Quartett – nun vollständig – verschanzte sich im Proberaum, um intensiv an Songs und Sound zu arbeiten. Vom Ehrgeiz gepackt fing CHIEFLAND im Mai 2015 mit den Aufnahmen zur Debut-EP „To Part Means To Die A Little“ an. Mit einer ambitionierten DIY-Einstellung übernahmen die Vier einen Großteil des Recordings selbst. Im Anschluss wanderten die Songs über den Kanal nach Southampton, wo Lewis Johns (Gnarwolves, Funeral For A Friend) ihnen im Mixing und Mastering den letzten Schliff gab. Mit den ersten Shows vor der Tür wartet die Band nun darauf, ihr fesselndes Storytelling in Kombination mit melodischem Hardcore zu präsentieren. CHIEFLAND was formed by Achim (guitars) and Christian (drums) in the summer of 2014. In pursuit of a new musical endeavour and heavily influenced by bands of “The Wave” (Touché Amore, La Dispute, Defeater and others), the two started writing new songs. These would later define the sound of the band. Shortly afterwards, Niki (Bass) and Corwin (Vocals) would join the project. Finally complete, the band spent months locked away in the German countryside to shape their songs. This resulted in a fountain of creativity and the recording of the debut EP “To Part Means To Die A Little”. Most of the recording was done by the band in a DIY fashion, except for the mixing and mastering. Lewis Johns (Gnarwolves, Funeral For A Friend) put the final touches to the songs. With the first shows around the corner CHIEFLAND is now set to unleash their sound on the German hardcore scene.
