Groovefella

Since his early years Benny had a close and intimate relation with music: his mother worked at the A&R department of a major record label and his father is an important music reviewer in Portugal. Both of them have always provided an environment at home which led to a profound interest and subsequent knowledge in the field. With the passing of time his interest focused in electronic music in general, and then, more specifically in House and Techno genres, that in the end made him discover a huge passion: deejaying. Since then that passion didn’t stop growing. He made up his mind and realized that was the path he’d like to follow and acquired all the necessary set up in order to start practicing mixing. A short time afterwards that passion produced effects and he was invited to play the warm-up session in a Lisbon After Hours Party. His set goes well and the crowded house reaction was so positive that one of the resident DJs at Alcântara Club (formerly known by the name of Alcântara Mar, a mythical club in Lisbon and European wise) decided to invite him for further performances. Benny started this way being a regular presence in the Lisbon night, catching everyone with his House selection and, at the same time, gaining lots of experience. In 2012 he also starts producing his own original tracks, remixes and collaborations under the name "Groovefella". You can find his tracks on the major digital stores under labels such as I Bounce Records, Plastik Galaxy, To Be Records, Grey City Records, among several others. Production is here to stay. Specially in the Lisbon scene, he has shared the DJ booth with names such as Phill Kay (Por), Pedro Diaz (Por), Luís Leite (Por), DJ Cabá (Por), Oscar Baìa (Por), Adriano Magone (Por), DJ Vitamine (Por), The Slum Vagabunds (Por), DJ Nox (Por), Jesus del Campo (Spa), Vito di Santi (Spa), DJ Diva (Ned), George Morel (USA), Mastiksoul (Por), Dj Jiggy (Por), Mónica Seidl (Por), Christian Sims (Fra), Carlos Fauvrelle (Por), Miss Sheila (Por), Aruzda (Por), Meko (Por), among others, performing at several clubs and private parties. Groovefella can be heard mainly in Portugal, where he continues to show us his energy and musically powerful DJ sets.

Bio:

Desde muito cedo que Benny tem um contacto muito próximo e íntimo com a música: a Mãe trabalhava numa grande editora internacional e o Pai é um conhecido critico de música em Portugal. Ambos mantiveram sempre um ambiente musicalmente rico em casa que levou a um profundo interesse e consequente conhecimento no campo. Com o passar do tempo esse interesse focou-se mais na Música Electrónica, mais concretamente nos Géneros House e Techno, que por sua vez fez com que descobrisse uma enorme paixão: O Deejaying, paixão que não parou de crescer desde então. Decide, então que é esse o caminho a tomar e adquire todo o Set-Up necessário para a práctica da Mistura. Pouco tempo depois a Paixão deu frutos e foi convidado para fazer o Warm-Up de um Afterhours na discoteca Alcântara-Club (Antigo Alcântara-Mar, Mítico Club Português).Após um excelente Set e a juntar à óptima reacção do público presente em grande número, o Dj Residente aposta em convidá-lo para mais Gigs. Benny começa, então, a ser uma presença habitual na noite Lisboeta contagiando todos com a sua linha de House e a ganhar muita experiência técnica. Em 2012, dá inicio a um novo projecto de produção de temas originais, remixes e colaborações sob nome Groovefella. Actualmente conta com temas editados em editoras como I Bounce Records, Plastik Galaxy, To Be Records, Grey City Records, entre muitas outras. A aposta na produção veio para ficar. Já conhecido entre os noctívagos de Lisboa, partilhou a cabine com nomes como: Phill Kay (Por), Pedro Diaz (Por), Luis Leite (Por), Cabá (Por), Oscar Baía (Por), Adriano Magone (Por), Dj Vitamine (Por), The Slum Vagabunds (Por), DJ Nox (Por), Jesus del Campo (Esp), Vito D'Santi (Esp), Diva (Hol), George Morel (USA), Mendo (Esp) Mastiksoul (Por), Dj Jiggy (Por), Mónica Seidl (Por), Christian Sims (Fra), Carlos Fauvrelle (Por), Miss Sheila (Por), Aruzda (Por), Meko (Por) entre outros, passando por diversas Casas do País. GROOVEFELLA pode ser ouvido sobretudo em Portugal, onde continua a presentear-nos com os seus Sets enérgicos e musicalmente poderosos.
