Starstruck Biography
Starstruck is a Dutch band from the city Utrecht. The band was founded in 2003 by singer-songwriters Roland Staring (music) and Ype Driessen (lyrics). The current band set up is Roland Staring (vocals/guitar), Mark Vieregge (vocals/bas), Pieter-Jan van Helvoort (guitar). Due to the unexpected departure of Erik Dobbelsteijn they are currently seeking a new drummer.
Their music is influenced by Crowded House, Steely Dan, The The, The Beatles, Sjako, The Smiths and The Divine Comedy. Musicians they admire and respect are Richard Bona, Joe Jackson, Joan Armatrading, Richard Thompson, David Gray, Paul Simon, Suzanne Vega, Morrissey, George Michael, Ben Harper, Chris Rea and Ry Cooder
They have so far recorded two demo CD's for promotional purposes.
